We are the data controller for the information described on this page.
What we collect
- Details you give us in an enquiry form: name, phone number, email address, postcode and whatever you tell us about the work.
- Photographs and messages you send us by WhatsApp or email.
- Correspondence, quotes and job records once you become a client.
- Basic analytics about how the website is used, where analytics are enabled.
Why we collect it
To answer your enquiry, to prepare and send you a quote, to carry out work you have instructed, and to keep the records we are required to keep as a contractor and as a limited company.
Our lawful bases are your consent when you contact us, the performance of a contract once you instruct us, and our legitimate interest in running and keeping records of the business.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information and we do not pass it to anyone for marketing.
We share it only where it is needed to do the job: with structural engineers, building control, party wall surveyors, suppliers, subcontractors working under us, our accountant, and our insurers. Enquiry forms are delivered through a form-handling service; email and WhatsApp messages sit with those providers as you would expect.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become jobs: up to two years, so we can pick up the conversation if you come back.
Job records, quotes, invoices and certification: at least six years, as required for tax, insurance and construction liability purposes.
Photographs of completed work may be kept and used on this website and on social media. If your job is shown here and you would rather it was not, tell us and we will take it down.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, or object to us using it. Email info@ogival.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not set advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share your information with advertisers.
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand which pages people find useful — how many visitors a page gets, roughly where in the country they are, and which links they follow. It sets cookies in your browser and sends that information to Google. It does not tell us who you are, and we never use it to identify individual visitors.
You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by blocking cookies in your browser. The website works exactly the same either way.
Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google when the page loads.
