About these terms
These terms cover use of this website and the basis on which we quote for and carry out work. Your contract for any particular job is the written quotation and schedule of works we issue and you accept, and where they differ from this page, the quotation takes precedence.
Quotations and surveys
- Site visits and written quotations are free and carry no obligation.
- Quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
- A quotation is based on what can be seen at survey. Where work uncovers something that could not reasonably have been seen — rot, movement, failed drainage, non-compliant wiring — we will stop, show you, and re-price that element before continuing.
- Prices exclude VAT unless the quotation says otherwise.
Payments and stages
Payments are tied to stages set out in the schedule of works, not to calendar dates. We do not ask for large deposits before work starts. Final payment is due on completion, after snagging has been agreed.
Our responsibilities
- We carry public liability insurance; a certificate is available on request.
- Electrical work is carried out and certified under our NICEIC registration, and gas work by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
- Where building regulations approval is required, we arrange inspections and provide the certification at completion.
- We are responsible for our own workforce and for subcontractors working under us.
Your responsibilities
Providing access as agreed, telling us about anything you know about the property that affects the work, obtaining freeholder or landlord consent where a lease requires it, and making decisions on specification in time for us to order materials.
Guarantees and warranties
Our workmanship is guaranteed for twelve months from completion. Manufacturer guarantees on products, membranes and appliances are passed to you and are subject to their own terms, including any servicing requirements — pumps and boilers in particular.
