Permissions

Gas Safe, certification and unvented systems

Gas work must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer, and unvented hot water cylinders require a separate qualification. Both are notifiable, and both produce certificates you'll be asked for when you sell or let.

Rules change and every property is different. We confirm what applies to yours in writing at the survey rather than leaving you to guess.

Yes. All gas work is carried out and certified by a Gas Safe registered engineer.

Should I get a combi or a cylinder?

It depends on how many bathrooms you have and how they're used. A combi struggles with simultaneous showers; a cylinder needs space. We'll give you a straight recommendation for your flat.

Can you find a leak without ripping the place apart?

Usually. Tracing first, opening up second, and only where the evidence points.

Do you do emergency work?
